Bastion Engraving, formally known as Bastion Trophies, began in 1952 when Jack Patten started training as a sign writer at the Brighton College of Art in England.
Jack worked his whole life as a sign painter until he bought Bastion Trophies in 1984. That was our family’s introduction to the world of engraving, etching, and computer generated signs. The knowledge and expertise gained from professional sign writing translated perfectly to this industry and the skills of layout and design have been passed along to all of our craftspeople.

Over the years, our expert engraving has been trusted for critical industrial applications including control panel labels on commercial marine vessels to lamacoid labels used by aerospace companies operating beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Whether on ships at sea or spacecraft in orbit, Bastion’s craftsmanship stands up to the toughest challenges.

Jack buys Bastion Trophies. That was our family’s introduction to the world of engraving, etching, and computer generated signs.

Lee began working at Bastion Trophies.
1991
Bastion Trophies moved from Commercial Street to Northfield Road.
2001
Lee took over Bastion Trophies.
2023
Bastion Trophies pivoted to focus more on engraving and renamed to Bastion Engraving.
