Bastion Engraving, formally known as Bastion Trophies, began in 1952 when Jack Patten began training as a sign writer at the Brighton College of Art in England. Jack worked his whole life as a sign painter until he bought Bastion Trophies in 1984. That was our family’s introduction to the world of engraving, etching, and computer generated signs. The knowledge and expertise gained from professional sign writing translated perfectly to this industry and the skills of layout and design have been passed along to all of our craftspeople. Together we have many decades of experience and take great pride in our work.

Our skilled craftspeople give you friendly courteous service to go along with a full dedication to quality. We take pride in the fact that we do our own work in house on our state of the art equipment.

We were the first shop on Vancouver Island to have a computerized engraving machine and we followed that up years later by being the first to provide laser engraving services.
